In practical terms this has meant that investment in a number of areas has been a priority. In 2015, following extensive research and development of its products, a major rebranding exercise saw the launch of Select Medical’s new Pure Air, Simpulse and OLA brands. These brands were designed to offer a complete collection of support surfaces to suit a range of budgets and a range of caring environments. The Pure Air ‘Extra Care’ brand quickly followed, providing affordable, specialised pressure relieving support surfaces for patients that can sometimes be overlooked. Extra Care offers mattresses specifically designed for the needs of bariatric and lightweight patients as well as children.
Whilst investment in product research and development will always continue, as we strive to bring the latest and best innovations to our customers, other areas of investment are helping to propel the business forward. Our new cleaning and decontamination facility has been designed to meet the rigours of even the most stringent infection control policy, with the latest professional washers and dryers installed. A new showroom offers a space for customers to see our products before purchasing, but also an area for competency training so carers know how to get the very best out of our systems.
Perhaps the most important area for investment, and without whom the business couldn’t grow and thrive, has been in its people.
