When choosing a pressure care mattress, it is important to consider the effects of that mattress on skin protection. Mattresses may be either static mattresses or dynamic mattresses. In general, a static mattress refers to a mattress that doesn’t move when a person lies on it.
It is important to note that NICE guidelines state that “if you are at risk or have a grade 1 or 2 pressure ulcer, the minimum provision you should receive is a high specification foam mattress which moulds or contours to the body, helping to relieve pressure and stop ulcers from developing.”
Our range of static mattresses has been developed to deliver effective pressure reduction and provide a high level of patient comfort.
