Seating Systems

It is a common misconception that pressure ulcers usually occur when people spend long periods of time in bed. In fact, most tissue damage is caused by sitting incorrectly for long periods of time on unsuitable chairs. It is therefore crucial as part of any pressure care policy, for any person who is susceptible to pressure ulcers be provided with some form of pressure relieving cushion to place in a conventional chair.

Wheelchair users are also at an extremely high risk of developing pressure ulcers which is why our pressure cushions are fully compatible with all makes of wheelchairs. The Anser alternating pressure cushion also now has a portable battery operated power unit to make it suitable for wheelchair use.
