Enhancement to the ALTAIR Mattress System
The ALTAIR replacement mattress system from within the Select Series of dynamic mattress systems has recently been upgraded to include an additional feature for added patient protection.
‘Cycle Fail’ add-on has been incorporated into the mattress system. This new feature will sound an audible alarm and also display a visual alarm if there is a malfunction of the alternating phase, alerting the carer/patient to the problem.
At under £1500, reliable ALTAIR is recognised as an excellent value for money pressure relieving support surface and this further development of the product will most certainly enhance its already high standing in the pressure care marketplace.
Ray Booth commented, “Cycle Fail is an important addition to this high end mattress system. A failure of the alternating cycle may well cause problems for the patient if not identified quickly. ALTAIR is commonly used with people who suffer grade three or four pressure ulcers and so we are pleased to have added this extra feature bringing additional peace of mind”.
Ray, who during 2009 changed roles to look specifically at product development is relishing in his new position collaborating with the R&D team, said “There will be advances across the whole Select product range during 2010 and we have some exciting projects in the pipeline. It’s an interesting time for the company”.
