Servicing, Maintenance and Repair
Nobody would want to find themselves in a situation where vital
pressure care equipment stops working, causing discomfort and distress to the very vulnerable people who rely on it to protect them.
At Select Medical, we offer servicing, maintenance and repair of not only our own pressure care equipment, but most other major manufacturers, as a stand alone service to NHS Trusts, PCTs and care homes.
To comply with health and safety standards,
dynamic mattresses, pumps and
pressure
cushions should be subject to an annual safety check. Your pressure care equipment will also benefit from being regularly serviced to ensure it remains in good working order and ready whenever your patients need it most.
To keep disruption to both you and your patients or residents to an absolute minimum, we service equipment on your premises. Our team of qualified engineers only use genuine manufacturer’s parts and our charges are amongst the most competitive in the industry.
We offer a range of options including:
- Annual servicing of equipment and preventative maintenance –
We would strongly recommend a planned programme of preventative
maintenance.
Our qualified engineers will carry out an annual inspection
to
ensure that equipment is calibrated correctly and is kept in optimum condition.
- Annual safety checks – All electrically operated equipment is subject to an
annual PAT test to comply with health and safety regulations. We will arrange
an annual visit to test all equipment, ensuring it complies with current
health and safety guidelines.
- Workshop repairs – If a piece of pressure care equipment needs repairing,
simply call us and we will collect from your premises, repair in our workshop
and deliver it back to you. You simply pay a one off fee per repair.
- Emergency breakdown callouts – Inevitably equipment will breakdown at the
most inconvenient times, putting patients’ health at risk. Our emergency
breakdown service is available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our contracted
clients can expect an engineer to arrive on site within 4 hours (during office hours)
or within 6 hours (outside office hours) of your call. Our fully trained engineers
will either repair the equipment on site, or if it is too complex, will loan you
replacement equipment and repair the faulty equipment at our workshop.
- Maintenance & Repair – to electrical profiling nursing beds is another
service we provide to many of our customers to ensure continued client safety.
- LOLER – testing and certification to patient lifting equipment is something that is
required by law. Our engineers will test not only the hoist/stander but also your slings.
To meet stringent infection control procedures, any equipment repaired at our workshop is fully cleaned and decontaminated before being delivered back to you.
